I earned a PhD in the neurobiology of behaviour, then found the best place to use it was on a leash, not in a lab. I started Parliament Paws to give working breeds in Ottawa and Gatineau the evening work they were bred for.

I'm a first time dog owner and just moved to Ottawa. I had no idea how to take care of a puppy. It was very difficult. To be honest, I was getting very desperate and depressed because I had no guidance. I even considered giving my puppy to another family member who already had dogs. I thought she would have a better life. The group training that i took from another organization didn't provide the skills that I need for everyday life.
Then came Margaret, she taught my puppy how to socialize, how to not be scared of bikes, water, people and other dogs. She taught me the foundation on how to give my puppy commands. Actually, on several occasions, I had family who were visiting came to the training to see how it's done and they were very impressed.
Now she enjoys going to the park and play with all kinds of dogs, big or small. She became a confident puppy. She wasn't the same puppy I rescued who was being bullied by other puppies.
